Just when you thought you had heard it all from our Washington sleazebags, Chris Lee, a Republican Congressman from New York resigned today in disgrace after showing off shirtless photos of himself and posting them on Craigslist as a way to attract other women.
Maybe this would not be a problem for someone who is not a public official, not to mention unmarried, but that is not the case for now-former Congressman Lee. He is married and has a son, and had been serving as a Congressman since 2009.
This simply shows not only an abuse of power, but a complete waste of the taxpayers time, to have this man representing the constituents of the 26th congressional district of New York, when the only real reason he was there in the first is obviously to make it all about Congressman Lee.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time we've had to deal with elected government morons getting caught up in scandals. Should we really go down the list: Governors Rod Blagojevich, Mark Sanford and Elliot Spitzer, Senator John Ensign and Congressman Eric Massa, are prime examples.
I guess we can go ahead and add another freeloader like Congressman Lee to this growing list, obviously demonstrating that some of these people have absolutely no intention on solving this country's major problems nor any respect or consideration of the people that elect them to the offices they serve.
