End the world starts tomorrow?

Tomorrow is Judgment Day according to Christians nationwide. For months now, you’ve probably seen the billboards or heard the radio advertisements “save the date” for May 21st. This is being promoted by Harold Camping of Family Radio and according to Camping, tomorrow will be the start of the first phase for the end of the world. Officially the end will come this October.

Skeptics however, whether they believe in God or not, are calling Camping’s bluff. Camping had stated that 1994 was to be the end of the world. He claims it was a mathematical error based on his findings in the Bible. The reason why Christians believe the end is here is because it welcomes the time of the rapture in which God will take his believers to heaven and the rest of us can live in a world of hell.

Call it what you may, whether you believe this or not, one does have to take into careful consideration with relation to significant events in the last year. We’ve had a major oil spill in the Gulf Coast, major earthquakes not only devastating the entire nation of Japan, but also in Haiti and Chile, recording breaking tornados and flooding damaging the mid-west and southern regions of the United States and the Middle East engulfed in unprecedented protests and violence. Could any of these catastrophic events actually hold validity?

Additionally, countries like North Korea and Iran have developed nuclear capabilities. Could we possibly see a nuclear war in the very near future? Certainly it is possible. For years now, Iran has been insisting on “wiping Israel off the map” by any means necessary and Iran has had close relations to terrorist groups including Hezbollah.

This came to light today when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made President Obama look like a total embarrassment after insisting Obama’s plans to allow Israel and Palestine to return to 1967 borders would never happen. Obama insists that the United States will work with Israel on peace talks between Palestine hopefully reaching a compromise by September. That is if Iran doesn’t blow up half the world in the meantime.

Obama’s hope to recognize Palestine as a legitimate nation by September is interesting though. It happens to be right around the time that the Christians say will be the final end date. Perhaps by then there will be a nuclear war? I’ll let you decide.

But if chaos really disrupts your Saturday plans by tomorrow evening, well then, kiss your weekend goodbye!

Egypt and Iran bridge relations?

The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that Egypt and Iran have bridged diplomatic relations for the first time in 30 years, ever since Egypt had signed a peace treaty with Israel.

However, Iran and Egypt respectively, have been denying such comments that they had begun smoothing out relations, even though Egypt’s foreign minister had stated in Cairo, that both countries where taking steps to re-establish ties.

Either way you look at it, the situation offers some rather disturbing scenarios as to what is really going on in the Middle East at the height of the unrest spreading from country to country.

For years, Egypt had been the only country to help stabilize the peace with Israel. However, since the collapse of President Hosni Mubarak’s regime in February, there has been more than enough concern as to whether the presence of the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate relations within Egypt’s new government, which is predominately Sunni Muslims and the Shiite Iran.

Historically speaking, Sunnis and Shiite Muslims do not get along, however the Muslim Brotherhood believes Muslims are not supposed to fight fellow Muslims and theoretically return to their earlier roots at the time of the prophet Mohammad.

But the Sunnis and Shiites do share one common goal: Destroy Israel and the United States.

Meanwhile here in at home, we have a completely incompetent President that refuses to address the destabilization of the Middle East. Perhaps he really doesn’t care? Perhaps it is just better off for the Arab world to fight against one another and then unite to destroy Israel and then ignore the problem?

Nobody seems to know what is really going on in this man’s head.

Arabian troops deployed to Bahrain

As the world has focused its attention on the devastation in Japan, tension continues to escalate in the Middle East.

Yesterday, Saudi Arabia deployed roughly 1,000 military troops to Bahrain, the small Island country in the Persian Gulf and the most recent country to spark protests like the ones we've already seen in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and Libya. The purpose of Saudi Arabia enforcing military intervention in Bahrain claims to support the monarchy against the opposing demonstrators.

The opposition calls the intervention by Saudi Arabia as nothing more than an act of "undeclared war".

Bahrain's government apparently called upon outside force from Saudi Arabia on Sunday after protests that were so large, gathered in Pearl Square, set up roadblocks and stood their ground in its financial district. Martial law imposed by Bahrain, required its police force to use tear gas against the protesters, but it was deemed to be too ineffective. The Peninsula Shield Force, which is made up of neighboring countries including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates were deployed to maintain security and stability.

The demonstrators in Bahrain led by a majority of Shiite Muslims, claim that they are hoping to remove the Sunni Monarchy, and Sunnis are concerned that any change of rule would threaten their own foundations they've had for over two hundred years.

Not to mention that if Shiite Muslims were to gain control, it may even give more of an indicator for Iran, also led by Shiites, to make a move against other countries in the region.

Interestingly, that nation's government led by the Hitler of our time, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has remained rather silent since all of these protests began across the region nearly three months ago.

U.S. releases Britian's nuclear plans to Russia

In the height of all of the major news networks sidetracking themselves with the coverage of the chaos in Egypt and throughout the Middle East, virtually no body in the media, with the exception of Michael Savage, commented on the fact that this President has sold the United States out.

That's right. WikiLeaks released cables on Friday which specifically addressed President Obama handing over Britain's nuclear plans to Russia as part of signing the New START Treaty.

The act is beyond treasonous. One has to ask themselves exactly what is the motive behind our President and Federal Government stabbing Britain in the back? The only possible answer to this question has to be that this President simply is creating one agenda after another. He has no care whatsoever if this could pose as a danger to our allies and our safety and security as a nation.

The cables describe in great length intelligence sharing and American spying on foreign minister officials and gathering information about their personal and private lives, all because Russia wanted further information on Britain's Trident missiles, which are built by the United States.

One will argue that perhaps Britain has no problem with the United States sharing its information with Russia, because the three nations are willing to work together when it comes to each of the nation's nuclear programs. However on the other hand, if Britain and Russia are both allies of the United States, why wouldn't there be a joint compromise between all three countries, instead of President Obama secretly doing this, without asking the British Government in the first place?

Another side note is Russia's relationship with Iran, which also has a nuclear program. Is Russia going to choose to share this information with Iran?

Any normal person would be arrested for espionage. Nixon resigned over Watergate, Clinton was impeached for his relation with Monica Lewinsky, Bush... don't even get me started on him... now Obama stabbing our allies in the back... will anyone in Congress actually fulfill what is written in the Constitution and investigate this?

Probably not. Nobody in Congress has guts to provide oversight on this administration.

Prisoners in Egypt released by Hezbollah

Egypt continues to look like nothing more than a war zone out of some Hollywood action movie.

The situation has grown from bad to worse as protesters and supporters of President Mubarak took to the streets for a violent battle. Gun fire, beatings, Molotov cocktails being thrown, its pure pandemonium. Journalists and world class reporters including Anderson Cooper and Christiane Amanpour have been in the middle of the crossfire and today, a Fox News crew were severely beaten and were taken to a hospital.

But that's not all that gone from bad to worse. Reuters reported that Hezbollah, which recently collapsed Lebanon's government, managed to help several of its members escape from prison in Egypt at the height of the chaos. In addition, thousands of other inmates were also able to escape, and with the Egyptian military and police force concentrating all of their efforts on the protests, a few of them have managed to muzzle their way back to the Gaza Strip.

Just moments ago, Ms. Amanpour, having dealt with getting attacked by the mob of protesters yesterday in Cairo, managed to finally talk with President Mubarak himself. In a ABC news exclusive, President Mubarak told Ms. Amanpour that "I'm fed up, I want to go, but if I resign today, there will be chaos..."

President Mubarak does have a point. There is no question that the people in Egypt are fed up with an authoritarian rule, but if he does cease power, this is one step further in what the Muslim Brotherhood wants, which again, is to destabilize the region and unite radical Islam to get rid of Israel.

Meanwhile, as expected, Iran is cheering for the protests in Egypt. Just like the Obama Administration is doing by the way.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says the protests are a sign of "Islamic Renaissance" and that "any opposition to the movement of the Egyptian people ... will bring about the anger and hatred of all Muslims around the world..."

This is also what Iran wants and will have no problem in helping Hezbollah establish its goal here, which is to dominate the entire Middle East under an Islamic rule.

Iran backs Lebanon; asks U.S. and Israel to stop interfering

The circus in the Middle East is asking the United States and Israel to stop interference with Lebanon's recently collapsed government. When I say circus, I'm referring to the joke that is Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Ahmadinejad responded on Lebanon's situation: "I tell the Zionists and the U.S. ... be ashamed of your interference in Lebanon and be sure that the Lebanese and regional nations will chop your dirty hands off."

He went on to say that each time the United States interferes in any country in the Middle East, it makes things much more complicated and that Lebanon can take care of itself.

This is a president that is basically for the most part, offering safe haven to the Militant Shiite group Hezbollah, which effectively collapsed Lebanon's unity government last week when its representative ministers resigned because Hezbollah remains at the top of the list of an international tribunal in the assassination of former Lebanon Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Hezbollah is hoping to establish a new power in Lebanon and to possibly wage a new war on Israel sometime down the road.

Hezbollah has issued a warning that they will "cut off the hands" of anyone who blames any member of the group for Hariri assassination. But the pressure is mounting. While Lebanon's government remains ineffective for the most part, Israel is basically having to battle enemies from all sides by itself and will have one more thing to worry about if Hezbollah gets it way. On the same front, Iran has a nuclear program which is for the most part, aimed at Israel and resentment is harbored by other Middle East nations after Israel was accused of carrying out the assassination on a leader of Hamas.

Things right now in the Middle East are not at all calm. President Obama might want to start getting serious that this idea of international talks and relations is not working. The Middle East could care less about this idea of peace. They want Israel out. If the United States chooses to do nothing, that entire region of the world may become a much larger threat than was anticipated.

Hezbollah collapses Lebanon's government

Earlier this week, Lebanon's government collapsed following the resignations of 11 ministers, 10 of which were representatives of the Militant Shiite Hezbollah, which opposes the parliament. The two main reasons as to why its government collapsed is because Hezbollah is hoping to establish a new form of government without a parliamentary and it would mean no further action can take place regarding indictments in the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri from 2005, which the international tribunal is investigating. By collapsing Lebanon's government, Hezbollah has effectively ceased the tribunal's investigation and indictments because wouldn't you know it, Hezbollah is at the top of the tribunal's suspect list for Hariri's assassination.

It is quite obvious what is happening here, because Hariri is the father of Lebanon's current prime minister Saad Hariri and apparent that Hezbollah is hoping to stifle his investigation and opposition of their radical agenda, and remove him from his position. With this current situation growing, some leaders are fearing that the country could lead to the brink of turmoil including violence on the streets.

Of course Lebanon has had problems like this for many years. Find any country in the Middle East that doesn't have these radical problems from militant or terrorist groups, its not necessarily "new" news. Lebanon itself has had to deal with government turmoil before, which include a laundry list of never-ending problems such as assassinations, bombings, a war with Israel and at one point, almost went to the brink of civil war back in 2008. Just about every country over there, with the exception of Israel, hates the United States and they want to kill us.

But coming to a more political standpoint, it seems completely logical to conclude that with President Obama having to deal with all of our problems here, it is the right opportunity for an issue to start over there. Lebanon, is becoming more aggressive like Iran, and they know President Obama does not want to engage in becoming the world police or having to assist in going to war. It occurs to me however, if Lebanon's new government eventually is re-established as being completely dominated by Hezbollah, could also mean another war on Israel.

You think Iran will miss out on an opportunity to help Hezbollah if they want to rage another war on Israel? I think not. So while the resentment continues to grow in the Middle East, some people in Washington right now are continuing to not pay much attention, if any, to this new development that Lebanon is functioning without a government and becoming increasingly dominated by a radical militant group, and most likely, nobody is going to admit that they'll pose as a potential threat to Israel.

But I'll say it here.

Iran testing nuclear bomb in North Korea?

The South Korean Foreign Ministry Institute submitted a report on December 24th, that North Korea was planning to test another nuclear weapon at the beginning of the year. Since the artillery attack last month between the two Korean nations, South Korea has also reported that North Korea is digging a tunnel for that specific purpose of carrying out nuclear testing.

But there is more fun nuclear news! The cozy relationship of the Kim Jong-Il dictatorial government and the equally insane Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has become more closer than ever before. It has been no secret that Iran and North Korea have developed relations with one another to accomplish their nuclear ambitions, including selling Iran nuclear technology, which includes ways to build Shahab-3 ballistic missiles. In fact, several scientists from Iran have recently headed to North Korea to agree to a nuclear test and have apparently paid money to its government to do so.

What should make this situation even more important to the people in Washington? Well, Fox News had a rather alarming report today that WikiLeaks has released cables that indicate Iran has advanced missiles that could carry nuclear warheads, enough to target every single capital city in Western Europe.

Now, we have two of former President Bush's"axis of evil", which by the way that the United States chose not to deal with years ago, and now for the first time they've been working on nuclear collaboration and quite frankly, very public about it. The enriched uranium in North Korea and their more violent approaches as of late, should give everyone a very clear indication that something bad is going to most likely happen on the horizon. It is quite clear that North Korea's uranium will also help Iran in the long term, which explains why Iran is wanting to test its nuclear bombs in North Korea.

Iran as it continues to defy the United Nations over its nuclear project and it does not seem to be bothered at all over the sanctions the UN has imposed against it. Any country in the Middle East that has a nuclear weapon which they can turn around and sell to a terrorist group, should set off alarm bells everywhere, and this upcoming nuclear test that Iran wants to hold in North Korea should be the final wake up call.

Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi jailed

Jafar Panahi, an award winning filmmaker from Iran, has been sentenced to six years in jail for making movies about humanitarian issues in his home country. Just goes to show how a dictatorial government works.

Because he demonstrated such high opposition against the Iranian Government, the conviction effectively bars Panahi from making any films for the next twenty years and he will not be allowed to write any scripts, travel or do any interviews with any form of news media, nor was he allowed to attend the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

I knew that Iran had some harsh punishments for even the slightest opposition of the Government, but prohibiting a world renowned filmmaker just for demonstrating to audiences how horrible things in Iran have been from the human rights perspective, is incredible.

Panahi was initially arrested in June, 2009 after the re-election of president (and clown) Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which sparked nationwide protests bringing about major opposition of Iran's people. The protests left many arrested and jailed; others wounded and killed. After Panahi's release in early 2010, he continued to show opposition against Iran's Government and was later arrested again.

His attorney is trying to appeal his conviction but it seems obvious that when it comes to appeals in Iran, there are very few. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is also known for refusing to pardon or intervene in any court decisions within Iran.

Nevertheless, the world renowned and respected filmmaker is drawing support from Hollywood directors including Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola, who have publicly criticized his conviction.

It just goes to show how bad things are in other countries when it comes to free speech. Even when things in the United States are crumbling, sometimes you are still thankful to live here than in a country like Iran.

Because here, you can actually criticize the Government anytime you want and get away with it!

Congress sucks!

Don't take my word for it. Take a look at a recent Gallup poll. Only 13% of Americans actually approve of our U.S. Congress. Kind of makes you wonder what exactly is going on in the heads of that 13%.

This is the lowest approval rating in 30 years, according to the Gallup poll.

But just take a look at Congress' track record over the last several years, whether its the House or the Senate. When the Democrats took control of both houses in 2006, they complained about how pathetic and horrible President Bush was, yet the freeloading deer-trapped-in-headlights Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi did nothing to enforce impeachment proceedings against him, even though she vowed to have "the most honest, most ethical and transparent Congress in our nation's history..."

How did that work out for you Madam Speaker? Virtually no transparency has existed.

This is the same Congress that did nothing in preventing the financial collapse of 2008. Many of the problems with financial and insurance institutions on Wall Street, the failure of the Securities and Exchange Commission to regulate and government sponsored lending entities including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac which were sinking into bankruptcy, were all under the watch of Congressman Barney Frank and Senator Chris Dodd.

This is also the same Congress that has for the most part been entirely ignoring the American people for the better part of two years, for the fact that they've been playing rubber stamps of President Obama's radical agenda. Some of the critical issues this last year included Arizona's new immigration law. Congress publicly criticized it, favored Mexican President Felipe Calderon's opposition of our laws and allowed Attorney General Eric Holder to sue Arizona, even though many of the leading polls showed that between 60% and 70% of Americans were supporting Arizona's law. Another critical issue involved Americans largely opposing the Health Care Law, yet Congress went ahead with it and jammed it down everyone's throat, without even looking at all of the major provisions.

Just like what Congressman John Conyers admitted. "We don't read the bills, it would take up too much time and delay the process..."

In another point of drama this year, Senator Lindsay Graham says we should invade Iran and overthrow that country's entire government. Yet while he has a point with relation to the dangers Iran could pose to the U.S. and Israel in particular, is that something we need at this very moment? I'm not questioning Iran's nuclear ambitions that it has to whip Israel off the face of the Earth, or that it has developed a relationship with Venezuela and North Korea, but Senator Graham seems to be oblivious to the fact that China has nuclear weapons, so does Pakistan and India. Hell, we have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the entire world!

My point being, the U.S. has enough problems right at home. A $14 trillion national debt, about $115 trillion in unfunded federal financial obligations, unemployment just a point under 10%, jobs being outsourced, people loosing their homes and a Federal Reserve that prints money out of thin air. Congress sits up on Capitol Hill and twiddles their thumbs on the DREAM Act, Don't Ask, Don't Tell and the Bush Tax Cuts, yet its time to get to the core of our problems.

A clown like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad can wait.

It just goes to show how incompetent and unrepresentable our Congress has been over the last several years. No wonder why its fallen to an all time low. Some have even argued that if the approval rating of Congress even matters?

Well it should if they're the ones we're paying to represent us. Oh, I forgot, they don't represent us, they're owned by the global elites, major corporations and special interest groups.

Hugo Chavez is an "axis of mischief"

In the hundreds of thousands of classified State Department documents that WikiLeaks released earlier this week, one of those memos dating as far back as 2006, indicates that the United States views Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez as an "Axis of Mischief", instead of what former President Bush named on his "Axis of Evil" list.

This particular released memo (or cable) discusses Venezuela's close relationship with Iran, hatred against Israel, Cuba assisting Chavez in anti-US intelligence services and to eventually establish nuclear plans which Russia agreed to support earlier this year in supplying a nuclear reactor plant.

Yet in the last few years while President Bush called Chavez nothing more than a 'clown' and President Obama not giving much concern either, the United States has sat in denial mode about Venezuela's plans and the relationships it has developed with some of our not-to-friendly enemies.

I suppose if you're only paying little attention to this country's agenda, one could see the U.S. calling it as "simple mischief".

Really?

The leaked document went on to further say that Chavez actually relies heavily on Cuban intelligence, than his own country's intelligence force. You may recall how much hatred Cuba had against the United States in the 1960's during incidents like the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis. I'd suspect that hatred is still around today.

But perhaps the most intriguing of all is Venezuela's continued relationship with Iran. What is an almost sickening "me and you" moments are the pictures of Chavez and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hugging each other and getting comfortable with their friendship. Well, this friendship is apparently sending shock-waves among Venezuela's Jewish community, seeing Iran's resentment against Israel and now from Venezuela.

Chavez of course claims that his words against Israel are not anti-Semitic, after he broke relations in 2009.

Quite disturbing I have to say. But the U.S. is still barely expressing even a minor concern.

Does anyone remember Adolph Hitler's plan with Jewish communities in Nazi Germany?

U.S. documents leaked

On Sunday,  an online whistle blowing organization known as WikiLeaks, were able to get their hands on hundreds of thousands of classified U.S. State Department secret memos and documents which detailed relationships and diplomacy, particularly in the Middle East.

The details of some of these secret documents centered around countries such as Saudi Arabia,  apparently trying to pressure the U.S. to take action against Iran and its nuclear program; additionally, there was also major concern to get the U.S. to move on problems in Afghanistan and Pakistan, centering around al-Qaeda; as well as growing discontent in North Korea. WikiLeaks went on to say that they were quite surprised by the level of espionage that the U.S. is engaging in, after analyzing the documents in full.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton indicated in a press conference this afternoon, that the U.S. would take 'aggressive steps' in finding those responsible for leaking the documents.

To be quite frank, I'm actually glad that Wikileaks released the documents which they claim more than half were unclassified anyway. Whether or not they actually where does not really concern me, but rather the U.S. Government continued ability to remain secretive about issues when it comes to foreign policy. Americans are already angry and fed up with things they're not supposed to know anything about,  so Americans knowing some of these so called 'classified' memos would be more comforting, rather than finding out later on that these things were kept behind closed doors and kept away from the American people which would make everyone, probably twice as angry.

Do we need to re-analyze the Bush Administration's policies that were kept from the American people?

The release of these documents are an embarrassment to the Obama Administration, and rightfully so. This President campaigned on the objective that he would provide more openness and transparency in Government and set up a stronger dialogue with the American people.

I think a majority of Americans now realize that was obviously a false pretense, and he can add this to his list that has exposed him as nothing more than a pathological liar.

Is Obama keeping U.S. safe from a “new” nuclear war and terror?

What is obviously continuing to be an escalating global threat, it was confirmed yesterday that North Korea has enriched uranium for its nuclear facilities. The news apparently sent shockwaves through Washington, yet some U.S. Officials were not entirely surprised by the situation… Well, the ones that were not surprised, at least understand that we’ve only been warned about North Korea’s anticipated progress on advancing its nuclear ambitions for fifteen years, or more. Yet nothing was ever done, except sign a piece of paper with the United Nations.

Back in June 2009 while in France, President Obama was asked at a press conference about North Korea and its relationship with Iran concerning their nuclear ambitions. The President seemed rather evasive on addressing the issue and could not clearly answer the United States’ policy with North Korea specifically, although he ended his statement by saying:

I don’t think that there should be an assumption, that we will simply continue down a path in which North Korea is constantly destabilizing the region, and we just react the same ways by after they do these things after a while, we reward them.”

Well, why don’t we stop assuming Mr. President? After all, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il has shown a clear defiance all this time, and violated its resolution with the United Nations. That should be enough of an indicator that they are one step further in expanding their program.

But North Korea, continuing its nuclear plans is just the tip of the iceberg. The United States has feared North Korea intention to sell missiles and nuclear technology to Iran. Even more terrifying, is the notion of North Korea ,possibly one day selling any of its nuclear programs to al-Qaeda, something that the terrorist network would absolutely love to get its hands on.

Iran has actually continued its operations out of the Middle East, in moving forward in establishing their nuclear plans. Now, the country is apparently mining for uranium in Venezuela. Russia agreed earlier this year, to help Venezuela build a nuclear reactor plant, and continued its relationship in assisting Iran. Over the course of the last several years, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have meet with each other in their respective countries to discuss their plans, with Venezuela actually allowing Iran to take over a mining site within its own country to obtain uranium.

Incidentally, on Chavez’s numerous trips to Iran in the last two years, he also began subsidizing the Militant Islamic group Hezbollah in Lebanon, while continuing to work in conjunction with Iran on its nuclear programs.

Why in the world would a Latin American President be giving money to an organization bent on destroying the United States and Israel?

The commonality of these three countries is based on the fact that they have been working to create a nuclear program that could threaten the safety of the world. Taking into consideration Chavez’s relationship with Hezbollah, which in itself has ties with al-Qaeda and Iran’s relationship with North Korea, which in turn could sell its missiles or weapons to al-Qaeda, paints a very disturbing picture as to what the United States is doing to seriously address this matter.

President Obama has done little when has come to moving forward on solutions to force North Korea and Iran to dismantle their nuclear plans, and is reluctant to admit putting sanctions against Venezuela and its connections to Iran and Middle East terrorist organizations.

The President also seems to be very reluctant to admit that al-Qaeda has moved its breeding grounds to North Africa in the Sahara desert, since the terrorist network has felt increasing heat to move away from Pakistan and Yemen. In September, al-Qaeda kidnapped five French nationals in Niger, and are currently holding them hostage. As of yesterday, al-Qaeda is reportedly demanding that France pull its troops out of Afghanistan if they want to see the hostages released. This, at the height of the NATO summit last week, which its topic of discussion was pulling out of Afghanistan by 2014.

Here’s a side recommendation to the French Government: If they are successful in getting its citizens out of the hands of al-Qaeda, then they should step up and use their own nuclear weapons as a primary defense in the war on terror, along with the United States. One problem resolved. Wouldn’t want to see all of that nuclear testing in the French Polynesian ocean near the Tahitian Moruroa Atoll go to waste.

But these are continuous escalating global threats. I would question President Obama as to how serious he is on taking affirmative action against these countries nuclear plans and the continuation of the threat from al-Qaeda in order to protect the United States, with the assistance of our allies. He can either get the United States to move on these problems; or simply just do what he said in his speech back in June of 2009, and just let them do their thing and reward them later.

This is probably the biggest world threat since the end of the Cold War, and this is not the extension of it, but rather something much worse.

NATO putting on the pressure to pull out of Afghanistan

Last weekend President Obama hopped all over the financial summits in Asia to discuss global economic reform, and now this weekend, he is meeting with leaders at the NATO summit in Lisbon concerning the War in Afghanistan.

As many may remember, President Obama repeatedly stated that he wanted troops to come home by 2011 and handover the responsibility to Afghan forces. Now it appears that officials are more or less focusing to withdraw the 100,000 troops, which included the 30,000 troops ordered by President Obama last year, by 2014.

The reason for this?

Mainly because Afghanistan has shown very little signs of stabilizing itself.

It shouldn’t appear to be such a shocker to President Obama, nor for any official in our Federal Government, as Afghanistan remains one of the top unstable governments in the entire world and has dealt with a continuous civil war for many decades, both from the invasion from the Soviet Union in the 1970’s, to an internal war throughout the 1990’s which resulted in the Taliban. Yet every time there seemed to be a war going on in Afghanistan, it was never able to build itself into a stabilized country.

I seem to recall we also went into Iraq and overthrew Saddam Hussein. Yet after years of fighting a war in that country, Iraq is still quite unstable and the place is pretty much uninhabitable.

Of course, the primary reason for going into Afghanistan back in 2001 in the first place, was to overthrow the Taliban and dismantle the al-Qaeda network, as a direct result of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Since that time, the U.S. Military has been unsuccessful in capturing the real ringleader behind those attacks, Osama bin Laden, ranging from theories that he is dead, or hiding out someplace in Pakistan.

President Obama has quite a bit to deal with right now in the Middle East, from leaving Iraq, to stabilizing Afghanistan, and apparently ignorant over Iran’s nuclear program.

At the NATO summit, leaders are pressuring President Obama to implement a better strategy for exiting Afghanistan by that time. While NATO has no exact departure date to be set in 2014, it is projected that the new war efforts in Afghanistan will cost American taxpayers $125 billion through these next three and a half years. Never mind the fact that the United States has enough problems on its plate including servicing its $14 trillion national debt, and providing health care for veterans that just returned from Iraq.

The real question remains as to when the United States does in fact leave Afghanistan, is that country going to be able to sustain itself as a stable government with democracy and its Afghan forces; or will it just become another breeding ground for future generations of al-Qaeda, again posing as a threat to our country’s national security, and the rest of the world?

Ahmadinejad says Iran’s nuclear rights are non-negotiable

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the President of Iran said on Wednesday that Iran is moving ahead on its atomic nuclear program, and made it very clear that it was non-negotiable. In the past month, many countries including the United States, France, Russia, Germany and China have all indicated concerns about Iran’s nuclear program based in Tehran.

Well, at least the United States is continuing to show concern over Iran’s nuclear program. You may recall back in 2003, when President Bush took the United States into Iraq, that he was under the impression from the CIA that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction.

It turns out that of course was not the case, but now we have Iran, being in a position to establish its nuclear plans with the support of technological nuclear exports from North Korea, and probably thinly subsidized by internationalists that want to destroy America.

What is interesting here, is how much outcry there was in 2003 when President Bush took us into Iraq, and now when you have Iraq’s neighbor in a position to move forward with its plans that could threaten the safety of the United States and the rest of world, you seem to hear very little concern of this issue especially in the mainstream news media.

While Ahmadinejad says that Iran’s mission is to establish a peaceful nuclear program, the real concern is again, how serious Iran is with relation to what they claim is peaceful. Ahmadinejad has stated that he is willing to have rational discussions with world leaders, but will not tolerate any country violating Iran’s rights.

The United Nations, which opposes Iran’s nuclear program showing defiance of UN policies, wants more transparency with Ahmadinejad. Perhaps the UN should implement the same memorandum they issued to Iraq, which was to disclose or face serious consequences, and the President to stand up for the American people and tell the truth of what is happening over there in Iran.

Everyone in this country knows that Iran and they’re neighbors in Afghanistan and Pakistan; want nothing more than to see the end to Israel and the United States. For President Ahmadinejad to speak at the UN in September, criticize the United States and say that the 9/11 terrorist attacks was the fault of the U.S. Government, demonstrates that he is harboring a haven for the threats in the Middle East, and to carry out his plan to develop this program that is going to threaten the rest of the world.

What the world leaders at the UN should have done is allow President Ahmadinejad to make his point, tar and feather him, and run him the hell out on a rail.

The United States needs to start addressing this matter more closely when it comes to foreign policy. While this country continues to suffer from just about everything, from unemployment, to the economic crisis and unfavorable policies set forth by President Obama, these matters escalated in the Middle East, should be added to his ‘top five’ concerns.

I would also like to say Happy Veteran’s Day to all of our men and women serving in uniform.
